Brandon Bruce has worked in a variety of roles in the technology and culinary industries. In 2021, they began working as the Customer Support Manager for Graylog, Inc. Prior to that, they held the same role at Linux Academy from 2018-2021, and was promoted to Director of Customer Support in 2019. From 2016-2014, they were an OpenStack Administrator at Rackspace. Before that, they were a Linux Administrator for Rackspace, the #1 managed cloud company from 2014-2016. In 2014, they were a student at Open Cloud Academy studying for RHCSA and learning Apache, MySQL, and Cloud technology. From 2012-2011, they were a Pantry/Dessert Chef at Detente. In 2011, they were a Lead Line Cook at The Newes, where they trained new employees on each position and prepared daily specials for lunch, dinner, soup, and dessert.

Brandon Bruce obtained a Diploma from Health Careers High School between 1991 and 1995. Brandon then attended Northwest Vista College from 2013 to 2015 and earned an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in Computer and Information Systems Security/Information Assurance. In 2014, Brandon obtained a Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHEL 6) from Open Cloud Academy. Brandon also obtained additional certifications from OpenStack, Red Hat, and CompTIA in 2016, 2014, and 2014 respectively.
