Sharon R. Harmon

Sharon R. Harmon has a diverse range of work experience. Sharon R. started their career as a Research Intern at the Army Research Laboratory in 2002, where they focused on characterizing and optimizing SiC for high-temperature applications. Sharon R. then worked as a Combat Systems Engineer at The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory from 2004 to 2007.

In 2007, Sharon joined System Planning Corporation/DARPA as a Research Scientist and Science and Engineering Technical Assistant, supporting program managers in cutting-edge research programs for the Department of Defense. During their time there, they played the role of program manager when necessary, attended technical conferences, and received a certificate for Project Leadership training.

From 2011 to 2012, they worked as a Research Analyst at CACI, Inc./Domestic Nuclear Defense Office, conducting research in their field. In 2012, they became a Photonics Engineer at Sotera Defense Solutions, Inc./U.S. Naval Research Laboratory, where they stayed until 2015. During their time there, they worked on photonics projects.
