Amanda Salazar has a diverse work experience in the field of theater and arts. Amanda currently holds the position of Director of Inclusion and Belonging at the Great River Shakespeare Festival, starting in 2023. Prior to this, they worked as an Associate at Steps Drama Learning Development since 2013. Amanda has also worked as an Actor at the Actors' Equity Association since 2015 and has had acting roles in various theater companies such as Dreamcatcher Repertory Theatre, Capital Stage, Theatreworks USA, New Ohio Theatre, MARIN SHAKESPEARE COMPANY, and Austin Shakespeare. In addition, Amanda has teaching experience as an Assistant Professor at The University of Texas at Austin, where they taught courses in Fundamentals of Acting and Fundamentals of Voice. Amanda also worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for Fundamentals of Theatre.
Amanda Salazar holds a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree in Acting from The University of Texas at Austin, which they obtained from 2010 to 2013. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's degree in both Psychology and Theatre/Theater from California State University-Sacramento in 2009. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications, including Substitute Teacher from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing in January 2023, and certifications in Diversity and Inclusion, Psychological First Aid, and Mental Health First Aid. Amanda also holds an Intimacy Captain certification from the Intimacy Coordinators of Color.
