Kara Carter

Kara Carter has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Kara is currently a Managing Director of Partnerships at the Greater Cleveland Partnership since 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Consultant at Wave Strategy from 2021 to 2022, where they focused on business development and analysis in the healthcare sector. Before that, from 2015 to 2021, they held various roles at JumpStart Inc., including Senior Partner of Advancement and Workforce, Senior Partner of Corporate and Community Relations, Partner of Corporate and Community Relations, Partner of Development, and Solutions Partner. At JumpStart, Kara played a significant role in securing grants, fostering strategic partnerships, and supporting entrepreneurship and workforce development initiatives. Prior to their time at JumpStart, Kara worked at Orion Advisory LLC as a Director of Consulting Services from 2000 to 2015, where they led various operational and process improvement projects in the financial services and healthcare industries. Kara began their career at KeyCorp, where they held the position of Vice President and Department Manager of Institutional Asset Services from 1991 to 2000, leading a team and achieving significant improvements in audit findings, quality, timeliness, and cost reduction.

Kara Carter has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a focus in Finance from Northeastern University.
