Ian Burton

Ian Burton currently serves as the General Manager at Greater Western Water, a position held since May 2024. Prior to this role, Ian was the Executive General Manager of the Project Delivery Group at VicTrack from February 2019 to May 2024. Ian's extensive experience in project management includes a tenure as Principal Project Manager at Yarra Trams, where leadership encompassed the $230 million Rolling Stock Additional Works program and the $1.1 billion E-Class Program. Ian also acted as Director, overseeing major projects within the portfolio. Prior roles at Arup from September 1995 to January 2015 involved senior leadership positions in the Integrated Program Management Office for the $1.85 billion Royal Adelaide Hospital, as well as managing various teams and significant projects. Ian holds a degree in Engineering from the University of Oxford and completed the Australian Major Projects Leadership Academy at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford.
