Sharon C. Geraghty

Sharon C. Geraghty has been the EVP & General Counsel at Great-West Lifeco since January 2018. Prior to that, they were a Partner at Torys LLP from August 1996 to January 2018, where they were a leading practitioner in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and securities law. Sharon has led domestic and cross-border acquisitions, takeover bids and amalgamations in both public and private markets. Sharon has also regularly acted for multinational corporations in a wide range of industries. Her clients have included two of Canada's leading financial institutions, Canada's largest stock exchange and one of Canada's largest communications and media companies. Sharon has also advised companies, directors and shareholders on corporate governance and securities compliance matters.

Sharon C. Geraghty attended the University of Toronto for their undergraduate degree and then went on to study law at the University of British Columbia, where they earned their Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.
