Imai Jen-la Plante

Imai Jen-La Plante has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Their most recent role is as a Principal Data Scientist at the Green Climate Fund since September 2021. Prior to that, they served as a Board Member at NewCo starting in May 2020. At Expedia Group, Imai held the position of Lead Applied Scientist - Senior Manager from March 2021 to August 2021.

Before joining Expedia, Imai worked as the Chief Innovation Officer at berney associés from July 2018 to February 2021. They also co-founded Explorers Lab in July 2019, where they served until January 2021.

Imai's earlier experiences include being a Big Data Specialist at Presence Switzerland, Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) from October 2017 to December 2019. They also held the role of Vice-Chair - Information, Communications & Technology Committee at the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan from December 2014 to June 2017.

Additionally, Imai has worked as a Data Scientist at Locarise from April 2016 to March 2017 and as a Consultant in Data Analytics and Strategy at CH Projects Management from April 2015 to March 2016. They have also served as a Team Leader at the Japan Market Expansion Competition (JMEC) from November 2013 to June 2014.

Imai Jen-La Plante has a diverse education history. In 2002, they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Physics from the University of Washington. They continued their studies at the University of Chicago, where they received a Master of Science (MS) degree in Physics in 2006, followed by a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Physics in 2011. In 2023, Imai completed a Certificate in Leadership Principles from Harvard Business School Online.

In addition to their academic achievements, Imai has obtained several certifications. In 2023, they obtained the COSO Internal Control Certificate from AICPA, the Microsoft Certified Power Platform Developer certification from Microsoft, and the Climate Change and Sustainable Investing Specialization from Coursera. They also hold the Microsoft Certified Azure Data Scientist Associate certification.

Furthermore, Imai has obtained various certificates related to project management and technology. They received the PRINCE2 Agile Practitioner and PRINCE2 Agile Foundation Certificates in Agile Project Management from AXELOS Global Best Practice in 2021. They also completed multiple specialized courses on blockchain, deep learning, neural networks, and machine learning through Coursera.

Imai Jen-La Plante has also demonstrated language proficiency by obtaining the Japanese-Language Proficiency Level N5 certification from JLPT in 2014.
