Mark Mahoney

Co-founder And Board Member at Green Dot Bioplastics

Mark Mahoney has over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. Mark began their career in 1992 as the President of Institutional Debt Management at First Union. During their time there, they grew the Specialized Industries Unit over 500% in four years with virtually no credit losses. Mark was also the Managing Director, Head of Investment Banking and Managing Director, Head of Specialized Industries. In 2001, they were recruited by the Head of Global Banking at Wells Fargo to build the Capital Markets unit. Mark served on the Executive Management Committee and left to form Gulf Stream Asset Management in 2002. Mark grew the firm to over $5B AUM and 35 employees and sold it to Apollo Global Management in 2011. At Apollo, they were named Partner and retired in 2012. In 2018, they became President and CIO of Meridian Credit Management and in 2019 they became President and Chief Investment Officer at Gulf Stream Asset Management LLC and a Member of The Board of Advisors for the CLO and Leveraged Loan Industry at Information Management Network (IMN). Mark is also a Co-Founder and Board Member at Green Dot Holdings LLC, where they developed the strategic plan resulting in $8MM of funding from the Kansas Bioscience Authority, sophisticated institutional investors, and leading celebrities.

Mark Mahoney attended The Lawrenceville School from 1968 to 1972, and then went on to pursue a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Theirtory/Economics at Duke University from 1972 to 1977.
