POSITION SCOPE – GreenGen is seeking to hire a Senior Energy Engineer who will be responsible for ensuring that key projects and engineering duties are fulfilled across Europe are fulfilled. This position reports to the Director, Europe and supports Europe-wide commercial and industrial energy efficiency programs focusing existing real estate, renewable energy and building services.

The main duties of the Senior Energy Engineer include but are not limited to peer reviewing designs and pricing, answering technical questions, managing third party engineers and contractors, quality assurance of reports, proposing budgets for projects, training new employees, working with various other departments, and preparing reports on the progress of various projects/assignments. The ideal candidate should have 8-10 years of experience working in building service engineering or similar field as well as a bachelor’s degree in engineering or similar.

WHAT WE NEED

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience

  • Fluent in French and English

  • Experience working on building services implementation projects

  • Understanding of energy efficiency topics and ESG

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field

  • Master's in engineering preferred

  • Self-motivated individual happy to work from home.

  • Experience working on projects in multiple European Countries

  • Great analytical and maths skills

  • Strong problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to collaborate with many other teams and stakeholders including real estate investors, contractors and third-party engineering firms

  • Ability to give constructive criticism

  • Ability to make decisions quickly

WHAT WE WANT

  • Experience with self-driving complex projects independently and on larger project teams involving engineering and analytical studies while working in a team-oriented environment

  • Experience developing, sourcing, and reviewing project estimates and proposals, as well as experience supporting business development

  • Net-Zero Carbon experience

  • Ability to work remotely and productively participating in/leading meetings

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES – Responsibilities will include (undertaking and review/oversight of) building service implementation projects, energy auditing, energy analysis and modelling, technical writing, and project management for multiple clients/energy efficiency projects. The position requires strong technical capabilities, including knowledge of building systems, energy efficiency, demand management, green building, and sustainability.

  • Create reports to give updates on projects

  • Conduct QA/QC of client deliverables to include reports and engineering calculations

LOCATION – Paris (Remote) – GreenGen operates throughout the UK and continental Europe, requiring regular travel and an ability to communicate in multiple languages. Please understand that we are not able to relocate candidates, sponsor visas, nor to accept applicants who are not already permitted to live and work in the EU. GreenGen works on a remote working model. The candidate will be expected to work from home (or local coworking space) from Paris or surrounding area and engage with the wider European team in UK, France, Italy, Spain, and US via Zoom/Teams.

TRAVEL – Travel to a variety of client locations within Continental Europe, UK, and US will be required for this role up to 15% of the year in increments of one week or less. Long-term engagements at a single client location are not expected.
