AJ Kolb has a diverse and extensive work history in the field of motion design. They started their career in 2005 as a freelance motion graphic designer, working on various projects. In 2008, they joined JWT as an Art Director and Motion Designer, where they contributed to campaigns for brands such as Microsoft, Mazda, Listerine, Jetblue, Smirnoff, and Stride Gum. After leaving JWT in 2011, AJ Kolb co-founded Amalgam LLC, a digital solutions agency, where they served as the Co-Founder and Co-Creative/Motion Director from 2013 to 2015. During this time, they merged their creative skills with the latest technology. From 2014 to 2016, AJ Kolb worked at Barclays Center as a Senior Motion Designer, where they provided creative direction for in-arena and marketing visuals for the New York Islanders and revamped the Brooklyn Nets game presentation. In 2016, they joined Isobar as a Lead Motion Designer, overseeing the creative aspects of the company's room-scale VR project and working with major clients like Zwilling, Zildjian, Shiseido, and Wyndham. Most recently, AJ Kolb joined Greenhouse Software in 2021 as a Senior Motion Designer. AJ Kolb attended American River College from 2001 to 2002, but did not receive a degree or specialize in a particular field of study during that time. Following this, AJ Kolb enrolled at Academy of Art University from 2002 to 2005, where they obtained an AA degree with a focus on Visual Effects.
