Himanshu Dhamankar

Sr. Director, Human Health R&d at GreenLight Biosciences

Himanshu Dhamankar has extensive experience in research and development in the fields of biotechnology and pharmaceuticals. Himanshu started their career as an Intern at Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited and later worked as a Technical Consultant at Novartis and BP. Himanshu completed their PhD at MIT, focusing on microbial synthesis of valuable products from biomass. Throughout their career, they held various roles at DuPont before joining GreenLight Biosciences, where they progressed from leading R&D teams, overseeing platform and product development, to finally becoming the Sr. Director of Human Health R&D, where they provided strategic direction for the organization and managed the development of RNA-based products for vaccines and gene therapy. Himanshu has successfully led teams, developed novel pathways, and contributed significantly to the advancement of RNA technologies.

Himanshu Dhamankar completed a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering at the Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai from 2003 to 2007. Himanshu then pursued a MsCEP and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Chemical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2007 to 2009 and 2007 to 2013, respectively. In 2023, they obtained a certification in Artificial Intelligence in Pharma and Biotech from MIT Sloan Executive Education.
