Mark Vitale

Mark Vitale, MD, MPH has a diverse work experience in the field of orthopaedic surgery. Mark currently serves as the Chief of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Greenwich Hospital, a position they have held since October 2022. Mark is also an active staff member at the hospital since 2012. Before joining Greenwich Hospital, they worked as an Orthopaedic Surgeon at Orthopaedic and Neurosurgery Specialists since 2012. Prior to that, they completed a Hand & Microsurgery Fellowship at Mayo Clinic from 2011 to 2012. Mark also gained valuable experience as an Orthopaedic Surgery Resident at Columbia University Medical Center from 2006 to 2011.

Mark Vitale, MD, MPH completed their education as follows:

- From 2002 to 2006, they attended Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, where they obtained a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree.

- In 2001, they pursued a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health, with a focus on Effectiveness and Outcomes Research.

- Mark earned a Bachelor's Degree in Biopsychology from Tufts University between 1997 and 2001.

- Prior to their undergraduate studies, they attended Poly Prep Country Day School from 1993 to 1997.

In addition to their academic achievements, Dr. Vitale also holds various certifications in their field:

- In 2015, they obtained a Certificate in the Subspecialty of Surgery of the Hand from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

- Mark became a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) in 2015.

- In 2014, they attained Diplomate status in Orthopaedic Surgery Board Certification from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

- Mark holds medical licenses, including the Connecticut State Medical License acquired in 2012 and the New York State Medical License obtained in 2007.
