Neil Floch M.d.

Dr. Neil Floch has extensive experience in bariatric and minimally invasive surgery. Neil is currently the Director of Bariatric Surgery at Greenwich Hospital and previously held the position of Director of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery at Nuvance Health.

Dr. Floch has also served in leadership roles at various organizations, including the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons, where they were the Co-Chairman of the communications committee and the Director of Twitter Social Media. Neil has also held positions at Norwalk Hospital and Fairfield County Bariatrics and Surgical Specialists, P.C., where they were the Director of Bariatric and Minimally Invasive Surgery and established a center of excellence in bariatric surgery.

In addition to their clinical work, Dr. Floch has been involved in education as an Associate Clinical Professor of Surgery at the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine. Neil has also been a leader in the field, serving as the President of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons Connecticut Chapter.

Dr. Floch completed their fellowship in advanced laparoscopic surgery at the Mayo Clinic, where they gained expertise in various laparoscopic procedures under the mentorship of Dr. Ronald Hinder.

Dr. Neil Floch completed their education by earning a Bachelor of Arts in Art History and Pre-Medical studies from Tufts University in 1988. Neil then went on to receive their Doctor of Medicine degree from Boston University School of Medicine in 1992. Neil further pursued their medical training at Beth Israel Medical Center, N.Y., N.Y., where they completed a General Surgery Residency from 1992 to 1997. Following this, Dr. Floch joined Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida, for a Fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery from 1997 to 1998.
