Maricela M. Tapia

Maricela is the International Program Manager. She supports the day-to-day operations of the International Program, including the development of the energy access work across Nepal, Nicaragua, and Mexico. She transferred from GRID HQ, where she served as the Communications Coordinator since November 2020.

Maricela has a background in food technology, food law, photography, videography, teaching, and volunteering. She incorporated volunteering into her life while raising her five children to stay involved in her community and found it most rewarding. While volunteering, Maricela earned experience in numerous community-based organization endeavors, such as publishing newsletters, running fundraisers, recruiting and training volunteers, and in 2019, a career with GRID Alternatives Central Valley as the Volunteer Coordinator.
