Laura McGann

Laura McGann serves as executive editor for Grid. For more than a decade, Laura has led newsrooms in D.C., building a reputation around her ability to frame the stakes of power, politics and policy. Laura has edited hundreds of reporters, including many who have covered the most complicated and consequential laws of our time, from the Affordable Care Act to Dodd Frank. Before Grid, Laura built the politics and policy team at Vox, leading its coverage of the 2016 and 2020 elections. Previously, she served as one of the first editors of Politico Pro and then as deputy managing editor for the 200-plus Politico newsroom. Earlier in her career, Laura worked as a reporter for the Washington Independent, Talking Points Memo and Dow Jones.
