James Dowie

James Dowie has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. James started their career at Standard Bank South Africa, where they worked in various fields, including customer consulting and systems implementation. James then joined Nieker Technologies as a Consultant, Software Developer, and Business Analyst. After that, they worked as an Assistant Lecturer at Luso Computer Institut. James then joined Absa Bank, where they held multiple roles, including Information Technology Solutions Architect, Information Technology Portfolio Manager, and Transformation Manager. James also worked as the Chief Information Officer at Absa Group and Barclays Bank Zambia. James later joined Absa Group again as a Programme Manager and Head of Information Technology. James then worked at Standard Bank Group as an Information Technology Portfolio Assurance Manager. Currently, James is working at Grindrod Bank, serving as the Acting Chief Operating Officer and the Head of Information Technology.

James Dowie has a diverse education history. In 2003, they attended Luso Computer Institute, where they studied computer programming. James then went on to Cranefield College of Project and Program Management in 2006, where they earned an Advanced Diploma in Project Management (NQF L7) - SAQA ID 48722. In 2007, they continued their education at Cranefield College and obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Programme Management (NQF L8) - SAQA ID 48723. In 2010, they attended Snaptech and completed the Prince 2 - Foundation course. Later in the same year, they also obtained the Prince 2 Practitioner Certification from Snaptech.

In addition to their formal education, James Dowie has obtained several certifications. James received the ITIL® Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management from People Cert in August 2014. James also earned the Prince 2 Registered Practitioner certification from APM Group in January 2010. More recently, they have pursued online certifications, including courses such as "Creating Your IT Strategy," "Ram Charan on Coaching High Potentials," "Learning Security Frameworks," "Design Thinking: Understanding the Process," "Digital Transformation," "Operations Management Foundations," "Project Portfolio Management Foundations," "Public Speaking Foundations," "Developing Executive Presence," "Executive Leadership," and "Giving Your Elevator Pitch." These online certifications were obtained from LinkedIn in various months and years, ranging from 2019 to 2020.
