Cory Dunn

Senior Scientist at GRO Biosciences

Cory Dunn has over 15 years of work experience. In 2021, they began working as a Senior Scientist at GRO Biosciences, where they perform high-throughput assays, designs genetic selections, and develops RNA modification assays. From 2017-2021, they were a Principal Investigator at the University of Helsinki, leading a team of five researchers and directing a CRISPR-based screen in mammalian cells. From 2009-2017, they were an Assistant Professor at Koç University, where they established a new Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics and received the College of Sciences Outstanding Faculty Award. From 2006-2009, they were a Postdoctoral Associate at Columbia University in the City of New York, where they demonstrated that tetraspanin proteins can promote the activity of the Notch signaling pathway, performed a high-throughput RNAi screen, and trained students.

Cory Dunn began their educational journey in 1995 when they attended The University of Toledo and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biology, General in 1999. Cory then went on to The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in Cell Biology in 2007. In December 2017, they obtained a Docentship in Molecular Microbiology from the University of Helsinki.
