Phil Baker

Lecturer In Physics at Loughborough College

Phil Baker is an accomplished academic and researcher with extensive experience in physics education and scientific research. Currently serving as a Lecturer in Physics at Loughborough College since September 2022, Phil has delivered A-level and BTEC physics courses and contributed to the award-winning Space Engineering course. Phil is a qualified educator, having passed the PGCE Secondary Physics Course at the University of Leicester in 2022. Previous roles include Physics Research Fellow at Nottingham Trent University, where experimental research was conducted on liquid dewetting, and Research Scientist for Merck Chemicals, focusing on liquid crystal displays. Additional experience encompasses various research assistant positions and engineering work at Agilent Technologies, among others. Phil holds a Ph.D. in Superconductor Physics from the University of Birmingham and has pursued language education in German.
