J. Marisha Collins has a long history of experience in the scientific field. J. Marisha began their career in 2001 as a Student Investigator at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where they studied plasmid conjugal transfer between two Rhodococcus bacterial strains. J. Marisha then worked as a Laboratory Intern at Genomics Collaborative in 2002, sequencing DNA samples and using automated liquid handling equipment for uni- and multiplex PCR. In 2003, they were a Technical Research Assistant at Brigham and Women's Hospital, managing the animal colony, maintaining all strains, and genotyping using PCR amplification and Southern Blot. In 2005, they began working as a Molecular Biologist at Agrivida, Inc., using recombinant DNA technology and protein engineering to develop modified plant varieties. In 2016, they became a Postdoctoral Scholar at Tufts University, and in 2019, they assumed the role of Principal Scientist at GRO Biosciences.
J. Marisha Collins completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biology from Boston College between 2008 and 2015. Prior to this, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Biology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology between 2000 and 2005.
