Grok has an immediate opening for a dual/joint Recruitment and Marketing Officer role to work on our growing recruitment team. The officer will work with the China Recruitment team to effectively support in-country recruitment activity and a university’s digital presence across Chinese social media channels, including but not limited to WeChat, Weibo, Red, and be tasked with various projects to help promote the brand socially. The officer must be tenacious and creative and enjoy being a part of an exciting and growing team.

Job Description:

  • Support the International Recruitment and Marketing team by contributing to the digital marketing and Chinese social media content calendar (WeChat, Weibo and Chinese microsite management );

  • Source required information from relevant internal and external stakeholders and support the development of tailored digital assets and content, as required for the digital marketing and communications calendar;

  • Create and edit digital content for various platforms, including stories, posters, images and videos, in alignment to the strategic marketing and recruitment plan;

  • Monitor and reply to enquiries from the Chinese enquiries webform and other social media enquiry sources and platforms (e.g. WeChat or Weibo) in native Chinese language;

  • Provide commentary (as required by management) towards digital communications and social media performance reports;

  • Stay up to date on the latest Chinese social media platforms and trends and share Chinese social media marketing landscape insights with social media lead;

  • Translate materials between English and Chinese, write original content for marketing and communication scollaterals, including but not limited to agent newsletters, brochures, prospectuses,flyers and banners;

  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure quality collaterals are produced and payments are received;

  • Organise recruitment events such as the online and offline applicant sessions, subject and department-specific lives treaming sessions on Weibo, in-country offer holder sessions, and agent training sessions;

  • Manage merchandise, in conjunction with the UK-based International Recruitment Team;

  • Support the China in-country recruitment team in designing, developing and delivering marketing strategies to grow applications and enhance conversion for all the University’s programmes, including distance and online learning, and those delivered in partnership with other organisations, summer school and study abroad;

  • Work closely with the China in-country Recruitment Officer to support in-country recruitment activity across China;

  • Lead on the conversion activities of the International Recruitment team under the direction of the Head of International Recruitment, Marketing and Conversion Manager and the Head of UG and PG admissions;

  • Perform ad-hoc duties as assigned.

The Most Suitable Background

  • 2+ years of relevant work experience in social media, preferably with experience/knowledge of education or international education, or in international student recruitment

  • Proven experience in developing social media content

  • Proven experience in social media account management and operation

  • Experience in event management

  • Strong language ability in both Chinese and English. Able to discuss strategy and analysis with English speakers.

  • Experience representing an academic institution will be a plus.

  • Work or study abroad in the UK or aboard is preferred.

  • Bachelor’s degree with good to strong academic performance.

  • Experience of public speaking, including presenting to an audience.

  • Experience of managing and processing data.
