Kelvin Towler

Kelvin Towler has an extensive work experience spanning several roles and companies. Kelvin began their career as a Trainee Technician at Network South East from 1985 to 1989. Kelvin then worked as an Electronic Design Engineer at Weidmuller Inc from 1993 to 1999, where they specialized in analogue design and served as a representative on fieldbus development committees.

From 1999 to 2008, Kelvin worked at Aqualisa Products Limited, starting as a Product Design Engineer and eventually becoming an Engineering Project Manager. Kelvin'sresponsibilities included electronic design, project management, and mentorship within the engineering team.

Kelvin was self-employed from 2008 to 2011, during which time they traveled with their family aboard a sailboat and motorhome.

From 2011 to 2023, Kelvin worked at Honeywell in various roles, including Senior Hardware Design Engineer, Development Manager, Engineering Manager, and Senior R&D Manager. Kelvin led R&D activities, set strategic direction, and managed teams across multiple brands within the building management industry. Kelvin also focused on platforming and innovation, developing functional paths for platform analysis.

In 2023, Kelvin joined Ground Control as the Director of Product Engineering. Kelvin leads the product engineering team and is responsible for overseeing the development of new products.

Kelvin Towler's education history includes a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Kent, which they completed from 1990 to 1993. Prior to that, they pursued a BTEC HNC in electrical/electronic engineering at South Kent College of Technology from 1985 to 1987. In the same period, they also completed EITB basic workshop training including City and Guilds(part 1) at the same institution. Earlier, from 1984 to 1986, Kelvin Towler obtained a BTEC OND in Technology from South Kent College of Technology, specializing in electrical, electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, and control engineering.
