The Electrical and Instrumentation Lead is responsible for coordinating, planning, and leading the E/I Technicians and team to ensure the safe and efficient operation of plant equipment. This role involves driving maintenance improvements, overseeing maintenance projects, and managing a team of approximately 8 E&I Technicians. The position includes both hands-on technical responsibilities and leadership duties.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

-Ensure all maintenance work is environmentally sound and performed safely.

-Support safety programs through preventive and reactive maintenance.

-Collaborate with the Maintenance Supervisor and Maintenance Planner to schedule planned tasks for the E&I Technicians.

-Perform JSAs, audits, and inspections to ensure operational compliance.

-Provide a structured team environment for E&I Technicians to follow and prioritize their work.

-Review work requests with Production Supervisors.

-Support review of planned and unplanned maintenance tasks.

-Provide on-call support for night and weekend shifts as well as additional support to other rotating shifts.

-Review and address maintenance schedule concerns, with the Maintenance Supervisor and Maintenance Planner.

-Assign specific tasks to E&I Technicians, ensuring schedule compliance.

-Respond promptly to emergency repairs to ensure high reliability.

-Install and implement new and upgraded equipment.

-Provide advanced troubleshooting of systems to support Operations and Engineering.

-Provide updates on task completion to the Maintenance Supervisor.

-Coordinate parts procurement with the Maintenance Planner.

-Perform predictive and preventive maintenance activities in a timely manner.

-Participate in new installations and modifications to existing equipment.

-Interpret technical drawings and procedures to aid in troubleshooting and repair of electrical, instruments, and control system equipment.

-Maintain proficiency in electrical troubleshooting, including high voltage, low voltage, and control circuits.

-Diagnose electrical malfunctions and perform corrective and preventative maintenance.

-Review and update loop diagrams and specification sheets as required.

-Lead and manage maintenance processes and operations pertaining to their scope.

-Prepare and review maintenance SOPs, work instructions, and schedules.

-Perform necessary tasks and work hours needed to accomplish departmental and company goals.

-This will include overtime work beyond normally scheduled hours daily during the week and/or weekend work as needed.

-Coordinate and assist with the Electrical Apprenticeship Program.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

-Deep knowledge of industrial plant equipment and maintenance practices.

-Leadership, communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize tasks.

-Knowledge of maintenance repair techniques.

-Understanding of Lockout Tagout (LOTO) and other safety protocols.

-Proven analysis and problem-solving skills.

-5+ years of experience leading and managing a maintenance team.

-8+ years of experience operating and fixing material processing equipment.

-Preventive Maintenance experience: creating programs, planning, and executing.

-Organizational skills to create and carry out work plans and resource planning.

-Ability to read and understand P&IDs, electrical and instrumentation schematics, and mechanical drawings.

The base pay range for this position is $46/hr - $58/hr. All positions come with a company bonus and stock options. The actual base pay offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the position is located.
