Ryan Frisella

Ryan Frisella has had a diverse range of work experiences. Ryan began their career as an Accounting Analyst at JSI in September 2014, where they collaborated with cross-functional teams and developed financial models with visualizations. In March 2015, they were promoted to Staff Analyst, providing financial support, assisting with internal financial operations, and leading forecasts. Ryan then became a Senior Analyst in March 2016, delving into large datasets to identify trends and opportunities. During their time at JSI, they also developed a method of studying client competition and visualized it on Google Earth.

In January 2018, Ryan joined General Assembly as a Data Scientist Fellow, completing projects, competitions, and personal studies in a full-time immersive data science course. Ryan focused on acquiring, cleaning, and exploring big data using various tools and presenting findings to technical and non-technical audiences.

From April to October 2018, Ryan worked as a Data Scientist (Contract) at Upwork, collaborating with multiple functions to develop and optimize machine learning algorithms and assist clients with data cleansing and automation.

In July 2018, Ryan also took on the role of Teaching Assistant at The University of Texas at Austin, guiding students in Data Analytics and Visualization and delivering the most updated content and knowledge in various tools and technologies.

Most recently, Ryan joined GroupBy Inc. in October 2018 as a Business Intelligence Analyst, where they identified and overcome procedural bottlenecks, developed storytelling visualizations and metrics, and focused on efficiency and effectiveness. In July 2022, they were promoted to Lead Business Intelligence Analyst, responsible for driving actionable information and developing innovative solutions.

Ryan Frisella has a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) in Finance and Financial Management Services from Texas State University. Ryan also holds an Associate's degree in Business/Commerce from Austin Community College. In addition to their formal education, Ryan has earned several certifications, including the Data Science Immersive program from General Assembly. Ryan has also completed various courses and programs related to data analytics, such as Build and Optimize Data Warehouses with BigQuery, Google Cloud Big Data and Machine Learning Fundamentals, and Preparing for the Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer Exam, which were obtained from Google Cloud Skills Boost. Ryan has also acquired certifications in SQL Fundamentals, HTML Fundamentals, Advanced Excel, and Google Analytics from SoloLearn and Google respectively.
