John McKim

John McKim has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. John currently holds the position of Chief Technology & Product Officer at GROW Inc, a role they have been in since January 2022. Prior to this, they worked as the SVP, Engineering at Pluralsight from July 2021 to December 2021.

Before joining Pluralsight, John was associated with A Cloud Guru for around five years. John served as the SVP of Product & Engineering, leading various functions such as Product Management, Product Design, Engineering, DevOps, Security & Data Engineering. John played a pivotal role in the acquisition of LinuxAcademy and was instrumental in driving growth, expanding the team to over 130 members. John also held the position of VP of Product & Technology and Head of Development during their tenure at A Cloud Guru. In these roles, they focused on growing and managing teams, introducing new practices, and overseeing the introduction of new product development teams and a security team.

Prior to their tenure at A Cloud Guru, John worked as a Software Developer at CareerHub for six years. During their time there, they collaborated with a small team to deliver new product initiatives and maintain the platform. John also worked closely with clients to support their implementation of CareerHub, a leading software used by universities worldwide.

John McKim began their education history by attending James Cook University from 2008 to 2012, where they obtained a Bachelor of Business and IT degree with a field of study in Management. Following that, they pursued Cross Institutional Study at QUT (Queensland University of Technology) from 2010 to 2012, focusing on Business and Information Technology. Apart from their academic qualifications, John has also attained additional certifications. In September 2017, they received the Amazon Web Services Cloud Practitioner certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS). Furthermore, in April 2019, they obtained the Amazon Web Services Developer - Associate certification, also from Amazon Web Services (AWS). Additionally, they completed the Financial Modeling & Valuation Analyst course offered by Corporate Finance Institute® (CFI) at an unspecified time.
