Aubrey Basdeo is an experienced professional in the field of fixed income investment strategy. Aubrey is currently serving as the Head of Canadian Fixed Income at Guardian Capital Group, where they are responsible for managing and delivering fixed income solutions to clients. Prior to this, they worked at BlackRock as a Subject Matter Expert for a few months in 2020. Aubrey also had a long tenure at BlackRock from 2005 to 2019, during which they held various roles, including Managing Director of Fixed Income Investment Strategy and Portfolio Manager. Aubrey played a significant role in developing and growing the firm's fixed income assets. Before joining BlackRock, Aubrey worked at Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan as a Portfolio Manager and Head of Macro Rates Relative Value. Aubrey started their career at Deutsche Bank as a Vice President, managing a proprietary portfolio and trading in short-term interest rates. Aubrey also worked at BMO Nesbitt Burns as a Director and Liability Trader.
Aubrey Basdeo, MBA, has a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Toronto - Rotman School of Management. Prior to their MBA, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from the University of Waterloo. In addition, Basdeo holds several certifications, including the Series 3, Series 7, and Series 63 from FINRA. Aubrey also obtained the Partners, Directors & Officers (PDO) certification from the Canadian Securities Institute (CSI) in 1992 and the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) certification from the Canadian Securities Institute in 1986.
