Yakov Petrunin

Yakov Petrunin is a seasoned product designer with extensive experience in leading design initiatives across various industries, particularly in the financial sector. Currently a Senior Product Designer at Guesty since June 2024, Yakov previously held the same title at Similarweb from November 2021 to July 2024. At Sberbank, from March 2019 to November 2021, Yakov managed a team of three designers for banking applications serving over 50 million users and significantly increased the monthly active users of Personal Financial Management services. Prior roles include Senior Product Designer at BANKEX, where a new custodial service attracted over $10 million in capital, and COMS, where Yakov's UX improvements reduced customer support load by 27%. Earlier experience as an Art Director and Architect further complements Yakov's design expertise. Yakov holds a Master of Architecture degree from the Moscow Architectural Institute and has additional education in finance from the Moscow Financial-Industrial University.
