Matthew McHugh is currently the Senior Manager of Customer Success & Partnerships at Guidebook. Prior to their current position, they worked as a software engineer student at Deutsche Bank from May to August 2013 and as an infantryman and communications specialist for the US Army from August 2006 to December 2011.
As a software engineer student, Matthew collaborated with fellow student developers using Agile/SCRUM development style and developed programming skills using Eclipse. Matthew was also responsible for motivating students to maintain team support and performing additional requirements as requested by instructors.
As an infantryman and communications specialist for the US Army, Matthew was responsible for maintaining communication equipment, assigning communication equipment to individual infantrymen, and reporting status updates of equipment to executive officers. Matthew was also responsible for communicating orders from commanding officers to battalion, company, and platoon levels during combat missions, ensuring that classified information was relayed effectively from ground forces to company command. Additionally, as an infantryman, they were responsible for assessing security risks for commanding officers during ground operations, maintaining and functioning assigned weapons and equipment, and conducting convoy security patrols.
