Prior to Countable, Leah was a freelance writer for Thin Reads from May 2013 to February 2014. Leah began their career as Managing Editor (SideReel.com, AllMusic.com, AllMovie.com) at RhythmOne from November 2012 to February 2016.

Leah Friedman earned their Bachelor of Arts from The Johns Hopkins University in French Literature/Russian Literature. Leah then pursued their studies at Université Paris Nanterre in French Language and Literature. After that, they attended a summer intensive at Middlebury College in Russian Language and Literature. Leah also attended Emma Willard School. Lastly, they got their certification in Digital Marketing from The George Washington University School of Business.
