Tiago Fernandes

Tiago Fernandes is the CTO and co-founder of GUURU. Prior to that, they were the head of mobile and frontend development at DeinDeal AG from June 2012 to June 2017. There, they managed a team of 20+ developers in backend, Salesforce, frontend, iOS, Android, and QA, increasing delivery performance. Tiago is an expert in software development cycles and introduced Scrum as a development methodology to the whole organization, from IT dev team to C-level. Fernandes also managed the creation of new iOS and Android native applications from inception to delivery. Tiago increased consistency in code and maintenance efficiency by introducing Atomic Design and a Pattern Library to the development process. Fernandes developed new flow hypothesis and tested them using various AB Testing tools to increase conversion rate with very low risk. Tiago converted the whole frontend architecture from Single Page App to Server side rendered pages reducing dramatically the download time and page size. Fernandes promoted test coverage as a mandatory step to the development cycle. Prior to DeinDeal AG, Fernandes was a project manager at Optimus from April 2011 to April 2012. Tiago was also the co-founder and CTO of yoursalesplace from June 2010 to June 2012.

Tiago Fernandes graduated with a degree in Computer Science and Systems Engineering from Universidade do Minho.

They are on a team with Jutta Stienen - VP, Marketing, Benno Marbach - COO, Co-Founder, and Rafaela Ruf - Head of Product. Tiago Fernandes reports to Tonio Meier, CEO, Co-Founder & Board Member.
