Matthew Dickison

Matthew Dickison is an experienced planning and development professional with a robust background in municipal management. Currently serving as the Director of Planning and Development for Gwinnett County Government since January 2021, Matthew has held progressive roles including Assistant Director and Deputy Director. Prior to this, significant experience includes serving as Planning and Development Director for the City of Chamblee and Deputy Director of Community Development for both the City of Dunwoody and City of Johns Creek. Matthew’s career began as Senior Urban Planner for the City of Atlanta and Senior Community Planner for Oldham County Fiscal Court. Educational credentials include a Master of Public Administration from the University of Illinois Springfield and a Master of Urban Planning, along with a Bachelor of Science in Geography from the University of Louisville.
