In 2013, Shirjeel received the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification from the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Pakistan. Shirjeel Ahmed also obtained the Public Finance Accountant (FPFA) certification from the Pakistan Institute of Public Finance Accountants in 2007. For their secondary education, Shirjeel completed GCE O' Levels from The City School (Oxford University-UK Board) in 1996 and GCE A' Levels in Accounting and Commerce from the University College of Islamabad (London University-UK Board) in 1998.

In terms of additional certifications, Shirjeel obtained the Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA) designation from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales in June 2021 and from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan in February 2014.
