Mustafa Aksu

Mustafa Aksu is an experienced program officer currently at the International Republican Institute, delivering analyses on political matters related to China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan while managing international workshops and grant programs across MENA, Southeast Asia, and North America. Additionally, Aksu serves as adjunct faculty at The George Washington University, instructing intensive Uyghur language courses. An independent consultant since January 2020, Aksu provides interpretation and translation services in multiple languages and conducts political and cultural research. Previous roles include program manager at the Uyghur Human Rights Project and various academic positions focused on Uyghur language and culture. Aksu holds a Master's degree in Linguistics/Central Asian Studies from Indiana University Bloomington, an MBA from Yeditepe University, and has participated in further education at notable institutions.
