Alicia Makaye, PhD has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and organizations. Alicia is currently the President and CEO of GXA, where they serve as a business strategist, operations executive, and advocate for a managed IT company. Alicia has been with GXA since its founding in 2004 and previously held the position of Vice President.

In addition to their role at GXA, Alicia Makaye is a member of the Advisory Council for the DFW Alliance of Technology and Women, a Board Member for the Richardson Chamber of Commerce, and a Board Member for the Dallas County Community College District (DCCCD) Foundation.

Alicia has also been involved in the educational sector, serving as an Advisory Council Member for The University of Texas at Dallas and as a Career Investigations Instructor at Dallas ISD. Prior to their career in education, Alicia Makaye worked in the United States Air Force as a Public Health Technician/Trainer, where they managed and inspected various vendors to ensure compliance with health regulations and prepared reports with recommendations and corrective actions.

Through their diverse work experiences, Alicia Makaye has demonstrated their expertise in business strategy, operations, advocacy, and education.

Alicia Makaye, PhD, has an extensive education history. Alicia received a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Public Affairs from The University of Texas at Dallas. Additionally, they completed the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business Alumni program, where they studied Ententrepreneurship Studies in 2017. Earlier in their academic career, Alicia earned a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Human Resources Management and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Resources Management, both from Troy University. Alicia also holds an Associate of Science (AS) degree in Industrial Management Technology and an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree in General Studies from Northwest Florida State College. Lastly, they achieved an Associate of Arts and Sciences (A.A.S.) degree in Environmental Medicine Technology from Community College of the Air Force.
