George F. Brown

Dr. Brown is an international health specialist, with extensive experience in the health needs of low-income countries. His principal areas of expertise are in reproductive health and AIDS prevention. Brown served most recently as Director of Health Equity at the Rockefeller Foundation. He served as Special Advisor in Population to the President of the Canadian International Development Agency, and helped establish Canada’s development assistance program in population and reproductive health. Previously, he served as Director of Population and Health Sciences at the International Development Research Centre in Ottawa, and as Vice President of International Programs at the Population Council, New York, a position he held for over 20 years. Brown received an M.D. from the University of Toronto, and a Masters degree in Public Health from Harvard University. He has worked in Haiti, Tunisia and Morocco.
