Erika Hansen Miller

Erika Hansen Miller has over 10 years of work experience in various roles within the field of product design. Erika is currently working as the Director of Product Design at H1, where they oversee the design process and strategy. Prior to this, they worked as the Product Design Manager and Lead Product Designer at the same company.

Before joining H1, Erika worked at Digital Asset as the Product Design Lead for over 5 years. During their time there, they led and worked on multiple projects for the Client Experience team, delivering UIs for full production platforms, POCs, and product demos. Erika also collaborated directly with clients, product analysts/managers/owners, and engineers.

Erika's experience includes working at IBM Watson Health as a Software Designer, where they led the design for the Watson for Oncology product. Erika also served as a Scrum master for the design team and actively engaged with stakeholders and product management.

Additionally, Erika worked at IBM Cloud as a Software Designer, focusing on designing products for the Infrastructure-as-a-Service component of Bluemix. Erika was responsible for leading the design efforts for various services and developing technical domain and user knowledge.

Earlier in their career, Erika held positions such as UX Designer at OSP Group, User Experience Design Intern at Havas Worldwide & IBM Design Lab, and Climate Action Plan Consultant for Red Hook, NY at Courtney Strong, Inc. Erika also worked as an Energy $mart Communities Coordinator at the New York Energy Research and Development Authority, where they provided public outreach and education on renewable energy and energy conservation programs.

Erika holds a Master of Professional Studies degree from the Interactive Telecommunications Program (ITP) at NYU, where they focused on exploring the imaginative use of communications technologies.

Throughout their career, Erika has demonstrated a strong ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams, develop deep domain and user knowledge, and deliver innovative and user-centered design solutions.

Erika Hansen Miller completed their education in a chronological order. Erika first attended the University of Southern California from 2001 to 2005, where they received a Bachelor's of Arts degree in Cultural Anthropology. Afterwards, from 2007 to 2011, they pursued a Master's of Arts degree in Climate Change and Chinese Media at Prescott College. Lastly, from 2012 to 2014, Erika attended New York University and obtained a Master of Professional Studies degree in Interactive Telecommunications.
