Our rapidly growing team is seeking a motivated Project Manager to join our Archaeology division. We are looking for a teammate who is experienced in the oil and gas industry and keen to help us with our well-positioned Archaeology team in NE BC. The opportunity provides a ton of growth, leadership, and professional development within H3M. Currently, we have a very strong client base in NE BC as a result of our team’s dedication to and approach to client service. The successful candidate will be the primary contact for the management of all Archaeology projects in the area. This includes but is not limited to some archaeological application requirements and front-end archaeological assessments in pursuit of projects from conception through to construction.

Role and Responsibilities: Duties include, but are not limited to:

Project Management (50%)

· Contribute to contract management and administration, and support in the planning and execution of professional and field services

· Define project scope, schedule and budget and identify associated risks and constraints and develop a plan to manage those risks and constraints

· Assign tasks, set targets, provide resources, and meet regularly with the project team

· Ensure compliance with federal and provincial regulations

Project Resourcing & Coordination (20%)

· Assess the needs for all projects, including resources necessary to execute the project, anticipated timeline and financial requirements, strategy for communication among relative stakeholders, and plan for execution and documentation

· Execute risk management and contingency planning to continue progress of the project

Financial & Vendor Management (15%)

· Communicate with the Finance department to maintain financials for the project

· Update finance on client financial concerns or preferences for the project

Project Control & Reporting (10%)

· Monitor and manage project progress for safety performance, scope, schedule and cost

· Communicate project status reports to applicable stakeholders

· Monitor and manage project funds when necessary

Process Improvement (5%)

· Contribute professional and technical expertise

· Application and interpretation of federal and provincial regulatory requirements, guidelines, and standard practices

· Adheres to current business processes and follows guidelines and best practices

Qualifications and skill: Experience and Education

· PMP or similar designation would be considered an asset.

· 5 years of progressive experience in project management support execution in the Oil & Gas, forestry and utility sectors.

· Proficient in using Microsoft Project would be an asset.

· Knowledge of archaeological regulatory requirements in Alberta and BC would be an asset.

· Knowledge of Heritage Conservation Act would be considered an asset.
