Tyler Hanzlik

Tyler Hanzlik has held a variety of engineering and research positions since 2015. In 2021, they began working as a Senior Engineer - Motor Systems at H3X Technologies. Prior to this role, they were a Project Engineer - Electric Motors at Woodward, Inc. from 2020-2021, where they were responsible for the electromagnetic and thermal design of permanent magnet motors for the aerospace and defense industry, as well as prototype development and testing. From 2019-2020, they were an Electric Motor Applications Engineer and US E-mobility representative at WITTENSTEIN North America, where they were responsible for electric motor development and support for custom applications, as well as custom traction motors, inverters, electric turbos, and radial and axial flux motors. Tyler was also a R&D Tech Center Engineer - Electric Motors at Arnold Magnetic Technologies from 2019-2020, where they were responsible for rapid prototyping of permanent magnet motors and magnetic assemblies, electromagnetic analysis of electric motors and magnetic assemblies, and magnetic materials testing and prototype manufacturing. From 2017-2019, they were an Engineer - Electric Motors and Powertrain thermals at Wisconsin Racing, where they were responsible for permanent magnet traction motor prototype development, manufacturing, and testing for electric all-wheel drive powertrain, electric powertrain and cooling design and simulation, and battery pack cooling design, simulation, and testing. From 2017-2018, they held multiple positions at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, including Graduate Student Researcher and Teaching Assistant. Tyler was also an Optimization Engineer Intern at ANDRITZ in 2017. In 2016, they were a Physics Teaching Fellow at Hobart and William Smith Colleges, as well as a Medical Physicist Intern and Analytics and Innovation Intern at Stamford Health. Additionally, they were a Civil Engineer Intern at Quest Civil Engineers in 2016.

Tyler Hanzlik completed their Bachelor of Science from Hobart and William Smith Colleges in 2017, graduating Cum Laude & Honors in Physics. Tyler then went on to pursue a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, which they completed in 2019.
