Jefferson Montoya has extensive work experience in data engineering and data modeling. Jefferson currently works as a Data Engineer at Habi starting in 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Tul as a Data Modeler from 2022 until 2023.
Before transitioning to data engineering and modeling roles, Montoya had a long tenure at PERCEPTIO S.A.S. where they served as an Analista Modelador de Datos. In this role, they were responsible for SAP Business Objects Data Services and Information Steward, executing activities related to data warehouse design and implementation, data quality, and ETL processes. Jefferson held this position from 2013 until 2022.
Montoya also gained consulting experience at SURA (SURA Colombia) where they worked as a Cosultor SAP BusinessObjects DataServices (BODS) / Information Steward (BOIS) from 2016 until 2018. In this role, they worked on SAP BusinessObjects Data Services and Information Steward projects including data modeling, migrations, PL/SQL development, and Microstrategy visualizations. Additionally, they provided training on SAP Business Objects Data Services and Information Steward to various teams within the company. Jefferson also worked on the Proyecto Gobierno de Datos from 2015 until 2018.
During their time at Crystal, as a Consultant Calidad de Datos, Montoya implemented the master data quality model using SAP BusinessObjects Data Services. Jefferson also provided support and implemented new features for the project. Jefferson held this position from 2013 until 2016. Additionally, they were involved in the migration of master data for the FlexPLM project using SAP BusinessObjects Data Services.
At Transportadora Comercial Colombia TCC, Montoya worked as an Analyst of Information Systems from 2011 until 2013. In this role, they provided basic administration, maintenance, and support for Oracle and SQL Server databases. Jefferson also conducted migrations and created queries and reports for various departments within the company.
Montoya began their professional career at MC Mensajería Confidencial as an Analyst of Information Systems. There, they provided support and query management for Oracle and MySQL databases. Jefferson also worked on the help desk and was involved in requirements gathering, analysis, design, and implementation of applications developed by external vendors. Jefferson held this position from 2008 until 2011.
Jefferson Montoya earned a degree in Ingeniería de sistemas from Universidad Santiago de Cali, where they studied from 2003 to 2009. In 2005, they also attended Microsoft and received a degree as a Desarrollador Cinco Estrellas. In 2007, they studied Diseño de Base de Datos en SQL at SENA. In 2012, they furthered their education at SENA with degrees in Metodologías de Análisis y Diseño de Sistemas and Diseño de Casos de Uso. In 2013, they briefly attended Universidad El Bosque, where they pursued Business Intelligence y Data Mining in the field of Ingeniería de sistemas.
