Andy Thornton has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Andy started their career as a coal miner at British Coal from 1987 to 1990. Andy then worked as a print manager at Transgrave-Printflo from 1990 to 1999. Moving into the water industry, they joined MWH Global as a senior process engineer from 2007 to 2011. Andy then worked at HACH-Lange as a wastewater treatment optimization specialist from 2011 to 2013. In 2013, they joined Veolia Water UK as a strategic technical lead for energy efficiency and carbon, and later as a technical lead for on-site technology. Since 2015, they have been associated with Hach, first as the head of project development for Northern Europe, and currently as the global projects director. In their current role, they are responsible for shaping the strategy and structure of Hach's global project business with respect to digital transformation and innovation platforms.
Andy Thornton completed their education in a chronological order. From 2000 to 2003, they pursued a degree in Applied Geology at Staffordshire University. Subsequently, they attended Cranfield University from 2004 to 2007, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Nutrient Removal.
