Candace Dennis

CEO Haico at HaiCo | Haida Enterprise Corporation

Candace Dennis has extensive experience in the banking industry, particularly in Aboriginal and Indigenous banking. Candace started their career at RBC in 2000, holding various positions including Senior Account Manager and Deputy Manager. In 2012, they joined BMO as Director of Aboriginal Markets, where they established the bank's dominance in BC and Yukon Indigenous communities. Candace then became Vice President of Indigenous Banking, overseeing the largest book of Indigenous clients in Canada. In 2019, Candace became the CEO of HaiCo, a corporation focused on developing the economy on Xaayda Gwaay for the benefit of the Haida people.

Candace Dennis completed an MBA in the Indigenous Business & Leadership Program at Simon Fraser University from 2014 to 2016. Prior to this, they completed a Professional Banking Program at the Fellowship Institute Canadian Banker from 1998 to 2000 and an Associate Institute of Canadian Bankers program at the Fellowship Institute of Canadian Bankers from 1997 to 1999. Additionally, they participated in the Achieving Market Leadership Program at Simon Fraser University with a focus on reading financial statements, ratio analysis, and projections.
