Water Resources Team Leader at Halff

Abigail Knott, PE, CFM has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of engineering and water resources management. Abigail is currently working as a Senior Project Manager at Halff since 2023. Prior to that, they served as the Interim Engineering Program Manager at the City of San Antonio from 2021 to 2023, where they oversaw a stormwater capital project and led a team of 18 professionals.

Abigail also worked as a Discipline Lead at Dunaway from 2020 to 2021, where they provided leadership and guidance in their specialized field. Before that, they held various roles at the San Antonio River Authority from 2017 to 2020, including Manager and Engineer. In these roles, they managed a department responsible for various water management projects and collaborated with external partners.

Earlier in their career, Abigail worked as a Civil Engineer at Michael Baker International from 2014 to 2017, where they specialized in geographic information systems (GIS) and hydrology and hydraulics (H&H). Abigail also gained experience as an Engineer in Training at Halff Associates from 2005 to 2014 and served as a Teaching Assistant at Texas State University from 2003 to 2005.

Abigail Knott, PE, CFM has a diverse educational background. Abigail first attended The University of Texas-Pan American from 1998 to 2001, where they studied Engineering. Abigail then pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science at The University of Texas at San Antonio from 2001 to 2003. Abigail continued their education at Texas State University from 2003 to 2005, earning a Master of Science degree in Geography. Abigail eventually returned to The University of Texas at San Antonio and completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from 2010 to 2014.

In addition to their academic achievements, Abigail Knott has acquired various certifications. Abigail became a Certified Floodplain Manager in August 2008 through the Texas Floodplain Managers Association. In November 2007, they obtained the Geographic Information Systems Professional certification from the GIS Certification Institute. Abigail also achieved the status of Engineer in Training from the Texas Board of Professional Engineers in August 2014. Abigail furthered their professional qualifications by becoming a licensed Professional Engineer, granted by the Texas Board of Professional Engineers in September 2017. Lastly, Abigail earned the Envision Sustainability Professional certification from the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure in July 2017.
