Graduate Civil Engineer at Halff

Kristina Johnson (Sebastian) has a diverse work experience spanning from 2010 to 2022. Kristina began their career as a Physical Science Aid with the Fleet Survey Team, where they assisted Physical Scientists in tasks related to hydrographic survey. From 2013 to 2015, they worked as a Research Associate 1 at the LSU Zooplankton Laboratory, overseeing Plankton Sorters, running analysis using Matlab, and sorting ichthyoplankton samples.

In 2016, Kristina worked as a Chemical Student Trainee at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory, where they conducted analysis on microbial degradation of materials and tested corrosion products. Kristina utilized techniques such as xDNA extraction, Scanning Electron Microscope analysis, and Live/Dead staining.

From 2019 to 2020, they worked as a Scientific Researcher at HX5, LLC, conducting scientific research. Then, they joined UICGS/Bowhead Family of Companies as a Scientist/Engineer from 2020 to 2021. Kristina'sresponsibilities included conducting scientific experiments and engineering tasks.

Most recently, Kristina worked as a Research Environmental Engineer with the US Army Corps of Engineers from 2021 to 2022. Kristina conducted research in the field of environmental engineering.

Currently, Kristina is employed as a Graduate Civil Engineer at Halff Associates, starting in 2022.

Kristina Johnson (Sebastian) obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Coastal Environmental Science from Louisiana State University, which they completed from 2009 to 2013. Following that, they pursued a Master's Degree in Environmental Engineering from the same university, which they completed between 2016 and 2019. In November 2020, Kristina obtained certification as an Engineer In Training from the Mississippi Board of Licensure for PEPLS.
