Adam Newell

Adam Newell has over 10 years of experience in software engineering and development. In 2021, they joined Halio, Inc. as a Senior Manager, Cloud Software, where they lead efforts in cloud software development of a business critical IoT platform. Adam is responsible for architecting solutions for next generation connectivity, deployment, telemetry, and reporting of field devices, as well as developing device failure prediction machine learning models and automating procedures for field and corporate support engineering groups.

Prior to Halio, Inc. Adam worked at Rakuten Advertising from 2014 to 2021, where they began as a Software Engineer, then moved up to Team Lead, Software Engineering, and eventually Director, Software Engineering. In this role, they managed as many as 30 Software Engineering, Data Engineering, QA, and Project Management leads and staff. Adam also created software and processes resulting in the elimination of 85% of operational work, saving an estimated $1.4M, unifying duplicate platforms from multiple acquisitions.

Adam also worked at Primary Residential Mortgage as a Software Engineer from 2012 to 2011 and at Apex EDI as a Software Developer from 2011 to 2012. At Apex EDI, they codified the ANSI X12 specification for EDI exchanges and the conversion to ICD10 medical coding, and they successfully advocated and led a campaign to modernize the software development methodology at the company.

Adam Newell obtained a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Neumont College of Computer Science in 2011. Adam then continued their education, earning a Master of Science in Software Engineering from The University of Texas at Dallas in 2020.
