Gay Landstrom, PhD, RN, NEA-BC, FAONL, FACHE, is Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer for Trinity Health, one the nation’s largest multi-state health systems. In this role, Dr. Landstrom is responsible for advancing Trinity Health’s journey as a people-centered health system and moving forward the organization’s goals of top quality, zero harm, and exceptional experience across the care continuum. Under her leadership, nursing professional practice has been hallmarked by outstanding quality and safety, leadership development, evidence-based practice, and the expansion of staff empowerment models.
In 2022, Dr. Landstrom was named among the country’s top CNOs to know by Becker’s Hospital Review. She was also featured by the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) for her work in building Trinity Health’s FirstChoice in-house travel staffing approach, which has created a more stable and satisfied workforce while saving the system millions of dollars using the HHCS Einstein II platform.

A Fellow of the American Organization for Nursing Leadership, she has a master’s degree in nursing administration from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a doctorate in nursing from the University of Michigan
