Othmane Bouhali has a diverse range of work experience in various research and computing roles. Othmane started their career in 2000 as a Researcher at Nikhef, where they worked until 2001. From 2001 to 2003, they were a Researcher specializing in High Energy and detector technologies at the Inter University Institute for High Energies. In 2004, they became the Head of the Computing group at the Inter University Institute of High Energies, a role they held until 2008.
In 2008, Bouhali joined Texas A&M University at Qatar as the Director of Research Computing, a position they held until 2011. From 2011 to 2017, they took on various roles at Texas A&M University at Qatar, including Director of Research Computing and Research Associated Research Professor. In 2017, they became the Research Professor and Director of Research Computing at Texas A&M University at Qatar.
In 2016, Bouhali became the Founding Director of the Advanced Scientific Computing Center (TASC) at Texas A&M University at Qatar. Additionally, in 2011, they had a joint appointment with the Qatar Computing Research Institute.

Othmane Bouhali completed their education at the Université libre de Bruxelles. Othmane obtained a Master's degree in Physics from the university in 1994. Following that, they pursued a PhD in Science with a specialization in Experimental High Energy Physics, which they completed from 1995 to 1999. In addition to their academic qualifications, Othmane Bouhali has also obtained various certifications. In 2017, they received a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute. Othmane also obtained a certification in Artificial Intelligence in Business from the MIT Sloan School of Management in 2018.
