Kyle Childs

Kyle Childs is an experienced professional in the nuclear industry, currently serving as a Sr Evaluator in Radiation Protection and Chemistry at the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations since June 2023. Previously, Kyle worked at Luminant for three years as an EFIN Supervisor, where responsibilities included overseeing refueling outages and supervising Radiation Protection, as well as completing Senior Reactor Operator certification and field supervisor qualifications. Prior to Luminant, Kyle was a Staff Scientist at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and spent five years at Duke Energy Corporation as a radioanalytical scientist, focusing on effluent and environmental monitoring for nuclear facilities. Educationally, Kyle holds a Master's Degree in Chemistry/Radiochemistry from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas and a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry/Radiochemistry from South Carolina State University.
