Hamilton College
Courtney Gibbons is currently an Associate Professor of Mathematics at Hamilton College, where courses taught include Calculus I, Calculus II, Linear Algebra, and Modern Algebra, among others. Gibbons serves as Chair of the Hamilton College Committee on Academic Policy and has previously held the role of Assistant Professor of Mathematics, developing courses on Cryptography and Number Theory with Applications. In addition to academic responsibilities, Gibbons has contributed to the National Science Foundation as an Expert in the Directorate for Computer and Information Science and Engineering and has experience as a AAAS Science and Technology Policy Fellow, providing program support across various solicitations. Further experience includes a AAAS Congressional Science & Technology Policy Fellowship in the United States Senate and teaching roles at Herkimer County Community College and Willamette University. Gibbons holds a PhD in Commutative Algebra from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a BA in Mathematics from Colorado College, graduating Summa Cum Laude.
