Anushka De Alwis is a tax specialist who currently works as a partner at HL Private in Hamilton Locke. Anushka has over eight years of experience working in taxation and revenue divisions for various companies.
De Alwis started their career at Flight Centre, where they worked for three years as a global tax specialist. In this role, they were responsible for managing the timely and accurate preparation of business activity statements, overseeing all GST queries raised by the business and third party suppliers, and assisting with the transfer pricing documentation in Australia and overseas.
Anushka then spent two years at HopgoodGanim Lawyers as a senior associate in the taxation and revenue division before taking a maternity leave in 2019. Upon their return from leave, De Alwis joined McCullough Robertson, where they worked as a senior associate for two years until they transitioned to their current role at Hamilton Locke.
At HL Private, De Alwis is responsible for managing all tax compliance and advisory work for the company’s clients. Anushka also provides training to junior staff on various tax-related topics.
Anushka De Alwis has a Bachelor of Commerce/LLB from The University of Queensland and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from QUT (Queensland University of Technology). Anushka also has a Graduate Diploma of Chartered Accounting from Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.
