Brent Delaney

Partner, Corporate at Hamilton Locke

Brent Delaney is a corporate lawyer with over 20 years of experience in mergers and acquisitions (M&A), private equity, and corporate law. Brent is currently a partner at Hamilton Locke, a corporate law firm in Australia. Prior to joining Hamilton Locke, Brent was a special counsel at K&L Gates, a global law firm, where they worked on M&A transactions. Before that, they were a senior associate at Sparke Helmore Lawyers, another Australian law firm, where they focused on M&A and private equity.

Brent began their career as a corporate lawyer at Blake Dawson, one of Australia’s largest law firms. Brent spent seven years at Blake Dawson before moving to CSIRO, Australia’s national science agency, where they worked as a corporate legal advisor. In this role, Brent helped to spin-off numerous companies that aimed to commercialise scientific discoveries made by CSIRO.

After leaving CSIRO, Brent spent two years as the corporate development manager and company secretary at YZ (International), Inc., a global engineering and construction firm. Brent then returned to private practice, first at Sparke Helmore Lawyers and then at K&L Gates.

Brent has a bachelor’s degree in Laws from the University of Sydney and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the College of Law.

Brent Delaney reports to Nick Humphrey, CEO. They are on a team with Sarah Gilkes - Partner, IP, James Delesclefs - Partner, Corporate, and Charmian Holmes - Partner, The Fold.
