Jason Verdugo

AVP & Athletic Director at Hamline University

Jason Verdugo joined Hamline in 2001 as head baseball coach and was promoted to athletic director in May 2012, having become the winningest baseball coach in school history with more than 200 career victories. He sets the direction for the athletic department's 20 sports teams by assisting coaches, managing the athletic budget, and overseeing management of sporting events, and coordinating communication with the MIAC conference office.

In addition to improvements on the field, court and ice, Hamline's athletes excel in the classroom. In 2014-15 alone, six teams and 10 individuals earned Academic All-American honors. Another 70 student-athletes were named to the MIAC Academic All-Conference teams.

Jason serves as an administrator for SAAC (Student-Athlete Advisory Committee) and is the Athletic Director liaison to the MIAC baseball coaches. He is also involved at the national level; having served as NCAA regional representative for the Midwest regional baseball coaches.

He earned a bachelors' degree in history from Arizona State and a Master's in Education from North Central University. He was also selected as class member and completed the prestigious NCAA Pathways program in 2012.

Jason is also a member of the following national organizations: NACDA (National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics), MOAA (Minority Opportunities Athletic Association, National Association of Division III Athletic Administrators, ABCA (American Baseball Coaches Association), Autism Society of MN, and ODK (Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society).
